The Winery
El Escoces Volante
Norrel Robertson is a Scottish Master of Wine who landed in Calatayud almost by chance after making wines in different parts of the world. His wines transmit his character, eclectic and innovative, and at the same time, they are very well imprinted with the essence of Calatayud, its old Garnacha vines and its high altitude slate soils.

Description of El Mondongo
After travelling around the wine regions of half the world, achieving the title of Master of Wine and training in viticulture and enology in New Zealand, Norrel Robertson created "El Escocés Volante" as a company and settled down in Calatayud with his family.
The grapes used to produce this wine come from five small plots of land. For the 2015 vintage of El Mondongo wine, a combination of these five separate vineyard plots have been brought together to create an aromatic synergy between the old Garnacha, Syrah and other indigenous varieties such as Moristel, Bobal and Garnacha Blanca.
El Mondongo is a new red wine in the collection of interesting wines of El Escocés Volante. It redefines the concept of Aragonese Garnacha, which does not have a denomination and is perfect for those who are looking for differential projects.
A light wine, with a pleasant texture, as well as tasty. Structured and powerful. Probably, more aging of the Grenache in the vineyard, the better concentration.
