Norrel Robertson is a Scottish Master of Wine who landed in Calatayud almost by chance after making wines in different parts of the world. His wines transmit his character, eclectic and innovative, and at the same time, they are very well imprinted with the essence of Calatayud, its old Garnacha vines and its high altitude slate soils.

Pale straw with unctuous texture.

Smell

Pronounced aromas of honeysuckle, apricot, lemon peel and herbs Mediterranean, punctuated by lively acidity well integrated toasted oak character with complex notes of spices and jasmine.

Bodied but elegant, crisp acidity, fresh fruit and a long bone mineral drying finish with notes. Hay and grass wild mountain

El Escocés Volante Winery is the producer of this El Puño Viognier 2015, a white wine with D. O. Calatayud based on bunches of viognier grapes. A  very aromatic, clean wine, in which white flowers are mixed with pear and caramel notes. With the aeration, notes of noble woods and milk appear.

Notas del Viñedo

Ancient vineyards located in Acered and Alarba (Zaragoza) at an altitude of between 1,000 to 1,100 meters above sea level. Culture in seaside with alluvial stones on brown and limestone frank clay.

Making notes

The wine was aged in its lees with Batonnage for 18 months in French oak barrels of 900 liters.
