The Winery

Marqués de Riscal

Marqués de Riscal is one of the original Rioja wineries. It has been making classic Riojas since 1858, but it has also been able to adapt to the avant-garde and, above all, to produce wines capable of transcending the passage of time. Today it controls more than 1500 hectares of vineyards in Rioja and owns the largest vineyard in Rueda with more than 200 hectares.

Nota de CataTasting notes

Look

very covered cherry color, intense and with little signs of evolution.

Smell

Very expressive with notes of licorice, cinnamon and black pepper, where the long aging in wood barely noticeable, thanks to its great complexity and concentration of ripe fruit.

Taste

Fresh, very nice polished tannins, good structure, but easy to drink. The finish is long and leaves a slight balsamic memories of great quality

Descripción de Marques De Riscal ReservaDescription of Marques De Riscal Reserva

Marqués de Riscal Reservas are basically made with Tempranillo grapes from vines planted before the 1970s, located in the best calcareous clay soils of the Rioja Alavesa. The variety withstands ageing in wood and bottle ageing well thanks to its good acid balance and fine tannins. Graciano and Mazuelo grapes, whose percentage in the blend does not exceed 10%, contribute freshness and lively colour. We recommend buying Marqués de Riscal Reserva to accompany cured meats such as ham, not very cured cheeses, stews with not very spicy sauces, red meats or roasts.
