The Winery


Enate is one of the leading and driving wineries in the Somontano area of Aragon. A historic winery with decades of experience working the vineyards in the Barbastro area and managing to perfect the identity of its reds with Bordeaux varieties and probably some of the best whites in Aragon.

  Enate Varietales is a red wine produced by Enate wineries in Salas Altas (Huesca) D. O. Somontano. This wine is the result of the fusion of the most selected varieties grown in their vineyards, which gives it a certain multi-faceted character. Enate Varietales is a fleshy, wide and expressive wine. Very intense on the nose, it shows a whole range of aromas that go from ripe red fruit to spices such as paprika and cloves, without detracting from the toasty notes of the ageing.

The winery vineyard, some 500 hectares own, is divided by the municipalities of High Salas, Low Salas, Creenzán and Barbastro. Located about 600 meters of altitude on little fertile limestone floors.

Making notes

The grapes of each variety arrive in cellar with excellent quality. Each variety performs the fermentation separately in stainless steel tanks at 28 ° C for the Cabernet and the Merlot and about 26ºC for the Tempranillo and Syrah. Malolactic fermentation takes place in new French oak barrels, where he held his aging for eighteen months. The climate in this area is continental, temperatures are very cold in winter and summers, hot.
