 A reference of Bodegas Aragonesas

Bodegas Aragonesas is proud of the high quality of its Coto de Hayas wines. It has a wide range of wines that treasure the value of the land and the work of men who, by tradition, have known how to make the most of the local natural potential.

Throughout its long history, this winery in Campo de Borja has exalted, generation after generation, its historical legacy.

Garnacha Centenaria, Roble, Crianza and Joven Magnum are part of the wide range of Coto de Hayas wines. All of them enjoy an extraordinary renown and have been awarded important prizes.

These wines have a Protected Designation of Origin under the name of Campo de Borja, indicating that they come exclusively from a production area of some 6000 hectares, located in the province of Zaragoza, in the region that gives them their name.

Coto de Haya wines start 2020 at the top of the highest level of recognition of the best wines in Spain.

The best Coto de Hayas wines with denomination of origin that you can get

In this region, the wine-growing culture dates back to 1145, being the monks of the Cistercian Order the entrepreneurs of grape growing. These monks placed great value on manual labour, a characteristic that is still preserved in the cultivation of the Garnacha grape variety.

Among the very outstanding wines with protected designation of origin Campo de Borja is the excellent Coto de Hayas Garnacha Centenaria. It is a red wine of a typical cherry red colour, with a fruity, intense aroma and a powerful varietal character conferred by the ageing in wood.

The Garnacha grape stands out among all the varieties because it is considered a local heritage. It is carefully cultivated in very old vineyards and harvested by hand. It is aged in French oak barrels that are kept in contact with their own lees for 4 months.

The Fagus de Coto de Hayas wine is also very well known in the Campo de Borja wineries. It is an aromatic wine, where vanilla, coffee and toffee prevail, together with other very particular balsamic and mineral notes.

It pleases all types of public, especially women, due to the sensational delicacy and exquisiteness experienced in the mouth. This has positioned it as a classic among the wines of Garnacha origin.

In the new Coto de Hayas Joven Magnum wine, selected grapes from exclusive vineyards of Garnacha and Syrah vines are combined, which allows harmonising a unique flavour in an exquisite red wine.

With an intense cherry red colour with purplish adjustments, the Joven Magnum wine is very bright and clean, with a marked and powerful varietal character. It also shows the fruity nuances that give it a wonderful quality and complexity, recognised by all.

Buy other great Coto de Hayas wines

The wide range of excellent Coto de Hayas wines is a source of great pride for Bodegas Aragonesas. In addition to Garnacha, other varieties such as Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay, among others, are grown in these vineyards.

Coto de Hayas Crianza wine is made from the best Garnacha and Tempranillo grapes. It is aged for 9 important months in American and French oak barrels, before being bottled.

The tasting of this wine of an intense red colour, with violet hues, reveals a high intensity aroma with complex fusions. Notes of spices and ripe fruit intermingle, leaving a smooth, ample and harmonious taste with the flavour of the oak.

Another great red wine you can buy is Coto de Hayas Roble, made from Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes from selected crops. Each variety is vinified separately using the traditional method, and then blended in perfect proportions.

The ageing of the spectacular wine Roble de Coto de Hayas lasts 4 months in American oak barrels.

The Coto de Hayas Tinto wine, traditionally produced with fermentation at 25 °C, perfectly combines the varieties Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sirah. In magical proportions, this blend produces a cherry-red wine with violet hues.

It is an excellent wine, intense and with a powerful and clean aroma that demonstrates its varietal character. It stands out for the coupling of fruity and floral nuances that provide a high level of quality and complexity. When passing through the mouth, it leaves a lovely, smooth and clean taste.
