The Winery

Viñas del Vero

Viñas del Vero owes its name to a river in the Somontano region, the Vero River, famous for its ravines, gorges and canyons.

With vineyards of the traditional varieties of the region (Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo), together with others of different origins (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir) they produce wines that entered the market in 1990.

Currently, Viñas de Vero is the leading winery in the Somontano appellation in terms of production volume and quality.

Nota de CataTasting notes

This wine surprised us from the moment in which we serve in the glass and offers its attractive purplish tones on a deep layer.

The nose is very comprehensive, balanced between black and red fruit, mineral tones and aromas of roasted sweet elegant which gives the barrel in which he made his upbringing.

Mouth invites memory, for his kind way, without edges, round, balanced and emphasizing especially for its subtlety, finesse and minerality.

Purple cherry with great coverage. Sweet on the nose, it shows notes of wild fruit, black and red, candy, minerals and sweet vanilla. Strong on the palate, powerful, expressive and fleshy. It is a full, intense and really surprising wine.

Notas del Viñedo

The payment "Las Canteras" is located on a plateau on one of the most beautiful terraces that forms the cinca river in its path through the Somontano. The micro-climatic peculiarity of this plateau lies in a perfect exposure to the sun and the continuous presence of the air, thus combined the warm winds of the Ebro Valley with the fresh winds of the Pyrenees.

Making notes

The vintage took place in the early hours of the day, and immediately afterwards, the clusters were descalled and refrigerated up to 8 ° C to perform a three-day maceration before fermentation. Then, the must fermented in contact with the bolesses for 9 days. After the discovery of the tank, only the flower wine was chosen to take it to oak barrels, where it remained 10 months.
