Viña Bujanda

A family winery in La Rioja owned by the Martínez Bujanda family, currently run by the fifth generation.

An innovative winery with 120 hectares of vineyards distributed between La Rioja Alta and La Rioja Alavesa.

Viña Bujanda is the project that Carlos and Pilar Martínez Bujanda decided to undertake in their own home, Oyón, where their great-grandfather Joaquín Martínez Bujanda founded the original family winery that has given rise to this saga of winegrowers and winemakers, whose fourth and fifth generations continue to run the business today.

The Martínez Bujanda family owns 120 hectares of vineyards in the Rioja D.O., which nourish this winery inaugurated in 2009. These 120 hectares are distributed in 28 plots between 20 and 70 years old, with an average plantation age of around 30 years. The estates belong to the sub-areas of La Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, with Logroño and Oyón as the main municipalities, although with a notable diversity of terroirs due to the different soil compositions and orientations of the plots.

The winery combines the family tradition of these winegrowers with the most modern oenological techniques, a concept that is reflected in the iconography and in the wine labelling itself, with a modern image illustrated with a classic typography.

A style of elegant and fresh wines, without abusing over-extraction and with a characteristic silkiness.

Sustainable agriculture is one of the banners of the winery, reusing grape skins and pruning remains to fertilise the vineyard. Moreover, respecting the non-interventionist practices of the family tradition.
