Tr3smano

The name used to designate this winery has a double symbolism. On the one hand, the three is used because in its origins three wines were created. On the other hand, it also alludes to the old Castilian expression - "trasmano" or "desmano"- to identify that which is not within reach but a little further back, that which is out of the way; everything that is not easy to find and obtain, as it is to make a good wine.

This winery is nourished by large vineyards located in three of the best wine-growing sub-zones of the Ribera del Duero located in the Golden Mile, in Valladolid. Between them they have a total surface area of about 55 hectares of vineyards, although all of them have very low production.

All the vineyards are planted exclusively with Tempranillo or Tinta del país - Tinta fina, most of them cultivated in goblet training system and with a planting density between 3,000 and 4,000 feet per hectare.

The work is carried out completely by hand with the greatest possible care to respect the quality of the grapes.

The winery is surrounded by a first 50 year old vineyard: the Lagar vineyard. This, together with the Rábano vineyard, is cultivated on very poor sandy-loam soils.
