Edra

The EDRA vineyard is located in the town of Ayerbe, pre-Pyrenees of Huesca, Spain. Protected Geographical Indication of Ribera del Gállego.

On a draining clay-limestone soil, Edra recovers a dormant tradition, where the densely planted vines of Syrah, Merlot, Tempranillo, Garnacha, Viognier and Parraleta varieties, among others, produce between 1.5 and 2 kg per vine.

The vineyard soil is covered with a layer of vegetation that maintains humidity, generates organic matter and competes with the vines. This, the water stress and the thermal contrast that the vines suffer in summer, make the roots of the vines have to look for deeper soils, an aspect that gives EDRA wines those characteristic notes of minerality in tasting.

At EDRA, we are passionate vignerons... Trellising allows us to manage the sunshine. Through manual pruning, leaf removal and wire management, we achieve personalised control of grape ripening.

EDRA cultivates its vineyard with respect for nature, it is an oasis in the midst of cereal and almond trees, and integrates itself into its biodiversity, provides organic matter from pruning and mowing, respects the cycles of the vine to avoid excess vigour and achieve a better balance of the plants.
