Notas del Viñedo

CVNE controls around 545 hectares located in the subzones of Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa. The vineyards of the high rioja, from which the grape come for the wines of this winery, are characterized by being clayed soils - calcareous, clay-ferrous and allovers.

Making notes

Elaborated from manually selected grapes in our high Rioja vineyards. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel deposits. The malolactic fermentation brings to the wine adequate maturity for its 24-month aging in American and French oak barrels. Before being bottled, it is clarified in a traditional way. Finally, it goes to our covers where a minimum of 36 months will age under conditions of suitable temperature and humidity until the moment of going on the market.

Climatología

This vintage was marked by a very rainy and cold spring just at the moment of the beginning of the vegetative cycle. This fact made it ripening unevenly and with a certain delay. Thanks to a very dry September and October, the grapes that mature with a certain delay could be harvested in a selective way. A complicated vintage but with good results as there was an exhaustive selection of grape.
