Pascal Doquet, a unique vigneron in Champagne
This producer took over from his grandfather and then from his parents and is now a unique producer and a biodynamic reference in the Côte de Blancs.
When we talk about Pascal Doquet, we are talking about something different. This vigneron from Vertus works intensely to obtain champagnes of the highest quality in this Premier Cru of the Côte de Blancs where Chardonnay reigns supreme.
Tasting notes
Look
Lemon yellow with golden tones. Bubble very fine and uniform.
Smell
suggestive notes of yuzu and white flowers wilted, creamy notes of yeast and counterpoint to almost metallic feel reminiscent of wet stone.
Taste
The palate is crisp, while offering a gentle density surrounding the mouth. Final mineral and citrusy refreshing. Intense and subtle at the same time, great equilibiro for a champagne that despite its reservation seems very young.

Description of Champagne Pascal Doquet Le Mesnil
Pascal Doquet Le Mesnil 2006 is a 100% Chardonnay Champagne from the Cote de Blancs, mainly from Vertus, with a blend of wines from different vintages.
Pascal Doquet is a small independent producer who controls around 10ha of certified vineyards, mainly in the Cote de Blancs, where his vineyards in Vertus and Le Mesnil are particularly outstanding. Doquet is considered one of the purest and most brilliant winemakers within the more oxidative styles. He focuses his work on preserving a magical Terroir, on the absence of systemic products and on the search for a more respectful management of the vineyard and the winery, both with the environment and with the wines themselves.
Pascal Doquet Le Mesnil 2006 shows the paradoxical balance between pure minerality and the result of blending reserve and oak-aged wines. Crisp acidity, candied citrus, tisanes, and that very particular sensation of chardonnay reminiscent of yeast as many Jura whites remind us. Wines of tremendous value for money in what are considered connoisseur Champagnes, highly sought after on the small winemaker circuit in Champagne. Try it with refined soft cheeses, white fish with intense sauces such as a creamy mustard sauce, seafood or Asian fusion food.
