The incredible story of Annette and her "Need More Wine".

Posted on2021-03-19

Who is Annette Muller?

Annette Muller is an elderly woman living in Canada and among her many hobbies is, unsurprisingly, wine.

Annette lives alone in her flat and in the midst of confinement we must be extremely cautious, and even more so with the elderly, who are the most at risk. That's why her kind daughter Kelly would go shopping for her at the supermarket or wherever she needed to go.

The photo that went viral

However, one day when Kelly was just visiting her mother's house to check on her, Annette showed up with a sign in her window that read "Need More Wine". Unsurprisingly, her daughter Kelly found this message hilarious, so she took a photo of her mother holding the sign.

What neither of them could have imagined is that this photo would go viral worldwide.

The original photo of Annette indicating to her daughter Kelly that she needed more wine

Kelly, who has around 400 friends on Facebook posted this photo of her mother that reached 60,000 Likes and was shared and reposted all over the world.

What? How? WHO?

That was the moment when, one Saturday afternoon, surfing the Social Networks we came across this funny photo, and after sharing it with friends (First things first, right?), it occurred to us to ask the enbotellados if we could use all our contacts to locate it and satisfy Annette's request (logically at the time we didn't even know her name)

After receiving some information from all the users, making inquiries, sending a few messages through social networks and asking through different media, we did it! We found Kelly, Annette's daughter, as the old lady has no social networks.

We are here to help your mother

Once we got in touch with Kelly, everything went smoothly. They are two lovely women who thanked us for all the effort and encouragement, as we all know that these little things are what make the quarantine so much more bearable.

So once we received the news that they were living in Canada, we asked the whole team at enbotella.com which bottles are their favourites so that we could send them.

Shipping 6 Bottles to Canada, an odyssey

Under normal conditions, sending wine to Canada is a difficult task, but if we also consider that we are in the middle of a pandemic and that we had to hurry for Annette, the degree of difficulty was aggravated.

However, our team made up of the best professionals and the desire we put into every detail, as well as the help of many people outside enbotella, made it possible for the box to leave our warehouses, travel the route Zaragoza - Madrid - New Jersey - Canada and the bottles arrived in perfect condition.

Annette finally got her wine

This was an awesome moment at enbotella.com.

The whole team was equal parts relieved and happy to know that Annette finally had her selection of wines that we had put so much effort into sending her.

So finally all that was left was to enjoy that magnificent selection of wines that Annette confessed to us that she would drink in the company of her daughter Kelly.

Many thanks to all the bottlers who made it possible, as well as to Alejandro Molins; the importing company, Eurovintage; and the winemaker José Carlos Llopart.
