The Winery

Williams & Humbert

Founded in 1877 by Sir. Alexander Williams, a great connoisseur and admirer of sherry products, and Arthur Humbert, a specialist in international relations.

Since then, some of the house wines and brandies have been kept in oak casks of the highest quality (soleras). These form the basis for the current development and ageing of each of the wines and brandies of Bodegas Williams & Humbert.

Nota de CataTasting notes

Look

Intense mahogany color with gold trim

Smell

Very intense notes of hazelnut and toasted wood notes elñegantes. Cortez memories dehydrated orange, candied fig and cocoa.

Taste

Good structure, powerful and aromatic. Paradoxically despite its good structure mouthfeel it is very elegant and long. Leave a mouth end of exceptionally long with hints of cigar box, nuts and sweet spices.

Descripción de Williams & Humbert OlorosoDescription of Williams & Humbert Oloroso

This wine corresponds to what the Williams & Humbert winery calls its Vintages Collection. They consist of a series of wines produced in static aging with the denomination of vintage, that is to say, the typical method of the Marco de Jerez is not used, by which the different vintages are homogenized according to the system of dynamic soleras. This implies that these wines are a unique reflection of the vintage and the special moment in which they were produced. They also come from vineyards located in the Pagos of Añina and Carrascal, some of the plots blessed with the best relationship between soil quality of Albariza, exposure and geographical location. Each saca has its own particularities that make it different. In addition, the entire collection of vintages are wines in branch, which means that they are directly bottled without filtering or clarifying. The 2009 Oloroso saca is a magnificent example of oxidative aging, a wine with 10 years of oxidative aging in static that displays with elegance all the nuances of the style, marked nut, toasted notes and spices reminiscent of candied figs. A powerful yet elegant mouth perfect for a tabletop without more pairing than the company. Perfect harmony for concentrated Iberian consomes, cured raw milk cheeses and even specialty bitter cocoa.
