The Winery

Viñas del Vero

Viñas del Vero owes its name to a river in the Somontano region, the Vero River, famous for its ravines, gorges and canyons. 

With vineyards of the traditional varieties of the region (Tempranillo, Moristel, Garnacha and Macabeo), together with others of different origins (Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Pinot Noir) they produce wines that entered the market in 1990.

Currently, Viñas de Vero is the leading winery in the Somontano appellation in terms of production volume and quality.

It presents a cherry color with abundant layer and very clean border. Its aromas are powerful, expressive, and reminiscent of plum, cherry, eucalyptus leaves, thyme, walnut and hazelnut. In short, a series of aromas of little similarity that coexist comfortably. On the palate it is very tasty, attractive, pleasant and harmonious.

Notas del Viñedo

The different vineyards of which we obtain the grapes to elaborate this wine were planted between 1987 and 1989 in a seaside area, with frank sandy soils. The average altitude is 405 meters above sea level and are oriented from north to south for better sun exposure.

Making notes

The scrubbed and squeezed of the grape was performed for, subsequently, refrigerate and cover it. In this way, the must mated with its skins for 48 hours before starting with the fermentation process, which lasted for 14 days. Once the fermentation was completed, it was discovered and only the flower wines were used for the final coupage, which remained in barrels 8 months. Subsequently, the wine was filtered and bottled.
