Dull red-black, purple.

Smell

Powerful print blackberry, with a hint of wood smoke and sweet vanilla. The nose begins to open and notes of black chocolate develops.

Taste

The initial impact is very good body, smooth and soft tannins, medium length and soft acidity. Black fruit flavors dominate; wild blackberries and dried plums, with hints of espresso coffee.

Borsao Zahris is a single-variety red wine made with Syrah grapes by the Borsao winery in the Borja countryside (just 40 minutes from Zaragoza city). Although it may seem a strange name for a wine, Zahris is Syraz if we turn it around, and that is because this wine is one of the only ones made only with this variety in Wineries Borsao, specialist in the Grenache grape. It is a wine cultivated at the mercy of the wind so characteristic of Zaragoza, called "Cierzo", and of the sun, since all the vines that are dedicated to the cultivation of Borsao Zahris are on a slope focused on the sun in order to make the most of its effects. A great wine to be paired with roasts, stews or stews.

The Syrah was planted more than 16 years ago in the foothills of the Moncayo. The vineyards were meticulously planted to take advantage of the quality of the soil, the sun and the uniqueness of the racing (the strong wind that blows from the northwest over more than 200 days of the year), which ventilates the grapes of flowering to the peak of maturity . The vines are 600-700 meters above sea level, on the limestone floor, giving the Syrah a pleasant acidity.

Making notes

The maceration is between 4-5 days and the total fermentation is 15-20 days in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 22 ° C to 26 ° C. 40% of the Syrah is aged in American oak barrels for 12 months, and another 60% in stainless steel tanks.
