Legend has it that the best Albariños are found in this land.

Located in Salvaterra do Miño, on the banks of the river, is the Pazo that presides over the estate and gives its name to the winery. In 2003, Bodegas y Viñedos del Marqués de Vargas acquired this historic 30-hectare pazo in Rías Baixas, in the chosen sub-denomination of Condado de Tea.

More than 40 years old, the vineyards of Pazo de San Mauro extend over a 30-hectare estate on boulder terraces on the banks of the Miño River, creating a natural amphitheatre and enveloping it with its magic and mystery.

Description of Pazo de San Mauro

This wine, 100% Albariño, is the expression of a vineyard of unparalleled beauty set in the history of a Pazo that dates back to the 16th century. The vineyard is located in a privileged place of the Condado de Tea, arranged in terraces overlooking the river Miño, on terraces of pebbles that form a natural amphitheater oriented at noon, with an extraordinary sunshine. Strains planted in semi-barrel so that the grapes, of very restricted production in relation to the average of the area, have the necessary ventilation and are of first quality. A wine with great aromatic intensity, wide and very fruity on the palate, which evokes the Celtic legends that surround the river Miño.
